Chongyang Forum No. 40
Former British Senior Official John Ross Dialogues with Prof. Wu Xiaoqiu
"China's Economy for 70 Years: Why Is It Frequently Misread?"
Economy-themed Dialogue and New Book Launch
This year is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China which is also the decisive year for building a well-off society in an all-round way. Over the past 70 years, China's economic development has made remarkable achievements and has been deeply integrated into the world economy, which makes it possible for China to continuously function as the largest contributor to world economic growth. As the world's second largest economy, China's high-quality economic development is the engine and stabilizer of the global economy. John Ross, as a western scholar who has long studied China’s economy and its relationship with the world economy, has jumped out of the inertial thinking of Chinese in his new book Don’t Misread China’s Economy. He further analyzed the great achievements of China’s economy from the perspective of foreigners and provided an objective and new interpretation for China’s economy. Is China’s economy misread or not? Has China’s economic thought exceeded the West? How will China's economy develop with the world economy in the future? Please keep eyes on the dialogue between the former British senior official John Ross and Chinese financial economist Dr. WU Xiaoqiu to further illustrate the past, present and future of China’s economy.
