The second phase continues to invite Wang Wen, executive dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China, to talk with the CCTV anchor Zhou Yingfeng on securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and targeted poverty alleviation.
In his interview, Wang Wen said that the moderately prosperous society not only means the GDP growth, but also reflects a comprehensive development situation such as social stability, environment protection, economic sustainable development, and people’s solidarity, from which demonstrate a comprehensive, balanced, inclusive development situation and future of the society.
Wang Wen noted that during the Spring Festival, RDCY investigated 15 provinces and 25 cities and issued a research report, which pointed out that 77% of Chinese people believe their incomes are growing in the last year. All the research results from the investigation, whether People`s basic needs for clothing, food and shelter, or the satisfaction for environment, property and investment, indicated that realizing the 2020 goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects is a high-probability event.
Wang Wen added that we must take tough steps to forestall and defuse major risks, carry out targeted poverty alleviation, and prevent and control pollution, to win the three battles so as to establish the foundation for realizing the moderately prosperous society in all respects.
