On September 16, 2020, Chongyang Forum No.47 was held online by the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY), co-hosted by China-Russia People-to-People Exchange Research Center of Renmin University of China and International Research Institute for Advanced Systems - IRIAS. This forum invited Mr. Zhou Li, Vice Minister of International Department at Central Committee of CPC dialogue and Mr. Glaziev Sergey, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission to have a dialogue on the theme of “The International Situation and Conjugation between Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI) under the Great Change", nearly 200,000 audience watched the live boradcast. A webinar celebrating the 70th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations was held on August 28, 2020, jointly held by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (RDCY) and the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies at Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo, Assistant Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Van Thao,Vice President of Renmin University of China Wu Xiaoqiu, and representatives from both countries’ relevant departments as well as well-know scholars and experts attended this conference.
This is part 2 of The Pacific Dialogue, between veteran Chinese diplomat Ambassador He Yafei and long-time American scholar on China Professor David Lampton. The dialogue took place on June 25, 2020, and was moderated by China-US Focus Editor-at-Large James Chau. The conversation focuses on the June 17 talks in Honolulu, Hawaii, between U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and China’s top diplomat, Yang Jiechi, the first high-ranking meeting between the two powers in months. He Yafei sees the talks as the beginning of renewed positive momentum, while Professor David Lampton calls for more dialogue across the board between government agencies, businesses and ordinary people.
